My full name is Heather Ashley Crain but my two most used names are Ms. Crain and babe. I am a nineties baby, and a backwoods beauty from New Brunswick, Canada. I have lived in Hong Kong for the past 7 years and will recieve my permanent residency this August. I have a hilarious British husband and a beautiful lab, Pepper.
As a full-time Humanties teacher, I have found time to pursue and fall in love with content creation and digital products. I always wanted to create a passive income
Before moving to HK in 2017 I had been as far as Ontario in terms of western Canada and as far state side as Orlando, Florida but have since travelled to: Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Tibet, Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Philippines and Mexico.
I am a girls girl through and through and love all things makeup, fashion and skincare. My husband would argue however that my style is defined by comfort which I cannot deny. Through my various travelling experiences I have developed a deep appreciation for different cultural experiences and food.People say making food is their love language but consuming food is mine!
Speaking of food, though I enjoy it throughly I have struggled most of my life with body positivity due to excess weight. It has only been in my thirties with an upcoming wedding that I really started to actively make life choices that fuel my body and make me feel good. In turn, this has completely changed my relationship with food and approach to exercise. Don't worry there are still tough days. In fact, it's a journey and the road is long but being able to buy off the rack for the first time in a very long time, it's a feeling that is out of this world!

It was a hot a humid night In Central, HK when I truly committed to the expat life and knew the permanent branding that would follow after copious amounts of savigon blanc. That same night would mark the beginning of an unforgettable adventure!
My new friend and colleague Lauren and I decided that both having zero tattoos meant that any night would be the perfect one to start. We sat at a table sipping the last of our wines and researching reputable places with good reviews. After some contemplating, we decided on one that fit our standards in our sedated state and went wandering about Central in pursuit of displaying some new ink.
We arrived alas. Lauren wanted a small peace sign on her ear. To much her dismay, the artist wasn't comfortable with such an intricate piece but asked if I wished to go ahead anyhow. With only a little hesitation, I said why the hell not and he began to needle my skin following the sample I had given him off Google, might I add that I had found just thirty minutes prior.
The tattoo itself took less than 30 minutes and in the end read, Wanderlust with a heart and paper airplane attached. That cemented for me that this tattoo represented my life abroad and the many travels that laid ahead. In that moment, I was fully committed to learning, loving and adapting in an entirely new way, something that I had never thought possible.

Boy oh boy. If someone would have told me that I would meet, date, survive covid with and eventually marry a white British guy in HK in 2017 I would have thrown a full glass of wine in their face!
Familiarity with dating? Yes. I thought I was familiar with dating, I dated guys in Canda but would I experience any familiar territory when it came to dating in Hong Kong? I can tell you for certain that no, there was zero familiarity and if anything, it felt like foreign territory completely armed with the capability to crush me.
So much so that my dear friend in his wedding speech when sharing our nuptials with friends and family referred to my dating escapades as, "Bumble boy-fuck toys."
Yes, you heard it correctly!
For all those looking to have an unconventional wedding speech.
